HERE'S THE GOSS ON ME
Hey you!
I thought I'd go a little deeper cause I'm not a huge lover of small talk !!
I’m Kate Westwood—a singer, songwriter, radio host, worship leader and proudly quirky creative based in Melbourne (with six worm farms and a one-eyed cat named Link to prove it). I’m passionate about helping women find their voice and use it boldly—whether that’s through music, storytelling, worship, or simply showing up with honesty and heart.
But I haven’t always been this confident. For years, I wrestled with insecurity, fear and comparison. I thought I’d missed my shot—that it was too late to start releasing music in my 30s. It took the encouragement of an incredible creative community to finally step out. They reminded me that age doesn’t disqualify you. So at 35, I released my first project, The Lament and the Love Song—a vulnerable collection about grief, hope, and God’s unchanging kindness.
Since then, I’ve continued to write music that reflects real life—joy, questions, faith, and a bit of sparkle. My newest EP Church Pop is faith-filled pop with purpose and punch. Its lead single Weight of the World is currently #1 on the Australian Christian radio chart, #16 overall, and has just earned me a nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year at the CMAA People’s Choice Awards.
I’ve been leading worship for years and being part of a local church community has shaped and strengthened me in so many ways. I believe in the power of worship to heal and bring freedom—and I count it a joy to help others encounter God through music.
When I’m not behind a mic or guitar, I’m probably in the garden, drinking coffee, or telling stories on-air at 89.9 TheLight. I’ve travelled to over 30 countries, but nothing beats creating something meaningful right here at home.
I love people deeply—and I can’t wait to connect with you so please touch base using the link below and make sure to join my email list too.
x Kate
